Port to Everywhere - Dresden Files
Kyoko’s mother was actually from a branch of Jade Warden’s whose blood had become too thin to produce many endowed children. It was her parent’s hope to find a suitable member of a stronger bloodline to marry her into and rekindle the flame. In the earlier years, it was a wonderful and exciting time in a young Jade Warden’s life for the prospect of arranging marriages. They would spend several years assessing different candidates and only after they had met and found they like each other would the marriage be arranged. The current times are much different and she was promised to the first man to reply to her parent’s inquires. It was many years before she actually did meet up and eventually marry him since he was busy with his work. It was not easy at first but they eventually did grow to like each other and developed a healthy respect for one another. They agreed they would make the most of their situation as possible and start a real family.
When she had learned of the Jade Wardens at her coming of age, it was at a time in great need of healers. The ranks had swarmed with warriors and scholars but the healers always remained low in number. They were responsible for keeping the Jade Wardens alive and well in times of fighting and to nourish and develop relationships between the groups and individuals. It was in this position that she had to focus and direct the powers she was imbued with. She found that the greatest respite for the fatigued was a simple massage. There she could slowly work the power of the recipients blood and increase the natural regeneration and energy flow of the individual. Along with her husband, they made quite the support team for other Jade Warden groups. When they eventually had their own children they gave birth to two warriors who would compliment their family and bring a balance that allowed them to work as a whole.
